INK NOT MINK

Yeah so everybody is going crazy about the fur these days. They either LOVE it and use it as a fashion statement, or they despise it and want the production shut down
(I guess there are inbetweeners as well, but right this second they don't really count, sorry guys ;) )
I think it's no surprise that I'm against fur, and I was very proud when PETA asked me to join in on the INK NOT MINK campaign with them and ANIMA.
When ever there is something I feel strongly about, or there's is a place in the world where less fortunate can benefit from my face or who I am, I feel it's my duty to step up, how could I not.
I have done a bunck of charity, for poor, for kids with cancer, for socially challenged kids etc, and I feel great about all of it. The only place where I have a bit of a doubble standard is when it comes to the fur/leather question

No, Hell no, I'd never wear fur. I feel it's discusting to breed animals of any kind, only to skin them to fullfill our own vanity. Simply discusting. Not to mention the way these animals are kept. It's just horrible.
With that said, I DO have leatherwear on my wardrobe, not bunches, but its there and I love it. I am totally aware it's a dubble standard, and then again not quite. Not in my head.
I kind of justify it with leather being a part of an animal that is being used for food. We use all of this animal for something. It's not just to keep us fashionable, its to keep us full as well.
I don't however eat meat, I leave that for others, and I'm 100% sure the meat industry will never go out of business. Therefor why not use all of the animal, instead of tossing the skin. (fuck I know this probablly makes no sense to anyone but me)
Compare it with the hunters in greenland, Id never point a finger at them for using the seal's fur for coats and boots etc. They eat the animal as well. It's not for the sake of vanity.
I don't even know why I feel like I have to explain myself in this area, but I do.
Also I have to ad that both ANIMA and PETA knows about my leather items, but also that I don't eat meat. I'd never pretend to be better that anyone else, I just have to explain this since it's a big deal to others than myself.

Do I even make sense?

Anyways I hope I do, and I hope there are others like myself meateaters or not, that will help us in the fight against furfarming. It's so unnessecary.

I'm sure the farmers will be able to find other and greater ways to use their farm.... organic crops....hint hint ;)
